Toyota NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Atlanta Recap

In Sunday’s Nascar Sprint Cup Race in Atlanta, Brian Vickers recorded a seventh-place finish in the No. 83 Red Bull Toyota, best amount the 13 Camry drivers in the field for the 341-lap 524-mile event that was extended for two “green-white-checkered” flag attempts to finish.

In Saturday’s NCWTS race, Busch recorded a runner-up result, the highest-finishing Toyota driver in the 130-lap event that saw four Tundras in the top-five. Busch started second in the Kyle Busch Motorsports No. 18 Tundra and led three times for 15 laps, but ultimately fell short to race-winner Harvick. The 24-year-old Las Vegas native had won the past two spring NCWTS races at Atlanta.

Toyota Racing: NASCAR in Atlanta This Weekend

Toyota Racing Fans

NASCAR® heads back to Atlanta where Kyle Busch gave Toyota its first NSCS win in March 2008. Busch heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway as the two-time defending NCWTS spring race-winner. Busch won in 2008 and 2009 in a Billy Ballew Motorsports Tundra, leading 33 of 130 laps one year ago en route to victory lane. He also won the fall NCWTS races at the track in 2005 and 2007.

Toyota Drivers in Atlanta:

Brian Vickers finished in the top 10 i both NSCS races at Atlanta in 2009. In Red Bull Racing Team No. 83 Camry, Brian finished fifth in Spring 2009 and seventh in Fall 2009. Joey Logano lived in Atlanta for part of his childhood and raced Legends cars at the quarter-mile oval inside Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch Takes Home Two Presents For His Birthday

RICHMOND, Va. (May 2, 2009) — At Richmond International Raceway, Kyle Busch celebrated his birthday by bring home two trophies from the Virginia short track. The 24-year old driver and Las Vegas native finished first in Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the .75-mile oval. This was after being victorious in Friday evening’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Top two Toyota Drivers in NSCS is Denny Hamlin (4th place) with 1321 points and Kyle Busch (5th place) just behind him with 1314 points.
